I ran so far (poetry month)

I ran so far

To not get where I am

I hid my joy in an unlit bar

Where sanity faked to give a damn

I glued tears

To the decaying fears

I watched insanity’s dance

With the cadaver of solitude

I heard the whispers of metal

Against the flesh of mere mortals

Who gave a damn when I spoke

When I was nothing but flesh and smoke?

I see the corpses

Of friendly foes

Who were, I suppose

Nothing but ellipses

On that blank page

That is my life.
